What Does a Painting Sound Like?

What does a painting sound like? Join harmonica virtuoso Chris DePino and the Just Jazz Quintet for an immersive, real-time dialogue between visual art and live jazz improvisation. Building on the historic synergy between Jackson Pollock’s canvases and Ornette Coleman’s fearless musical artistry, the quintet—featuring the piano mastery of Alex Nakhimovsky, the guitar artistry of Christopher Morrison, and the dynamic rhythmic foundation of Morris Trent on bass and Dan Klug on drums—reads visual art as a live musical score. Watch and listen as light, shadow, color, and brushwork translate into shifting grooves, lush harmonies, and the deeply expressive voice of the chromatic harmonica. Step inside a living soundscape where the boundaries between canvas and concert dissolve, and experience what happens when you hear what you see and see what you hear.
